2008 TRAVEL SOCCER PROGRAM TRYOUTS
(It's over for this year, but it will be similar for the next one)

Tryouts for the 2008-2009 Livingston Soccer Club Travel Soccer Program will be held as follows:

SATURDAY, MAY 3 and SATURDAY, MAY 10, 2008

LOCATION:  HERITAGE MIDDLE SCHOOL FIELDS

FRIDAY, MAY 2 and FRIDAY, May 9, for SOME AGE GROUPS

LOCATIONS:  MOUNT PLEASANT MIDDLE SCHOOL

Children are strongly encouraged to attend both competitive Tryouts, but participation in at least one Tryout is required for being eligible to play for a Livingston Soccer Club Travel Team.

All Livingston children born between August 1, 1994 and July 31, 2001 are eligible to tryout so long as they are properly registered with the Livingston Soccer Club prior to their scheduled tryout time.  Children must bring their pink copy of the Registration Form with them to the Tryout.  For insurance reasons children who fail to show their pink copy of the Registration Form will NOT be allowed to tryout.  You can register at one of the two scheduled Registration dates listed in the accompanying letter from Club President Andy Feigenberg.  In order to facilitate administration of the Tryouts children should pre-register for the Tryouts by completing the postcard that will be available at each of the scheduled Registrations.

The Tryout Schedule is based on the child’s birth date as follows:

Under 12 Girls               August 1, 1996 – July 31, 1997               3:30 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. (Friday-Mt. Pleasant)

Under 13 Boys              August 1, 1995 – July 31, 1996               5:00 P.M. – 6:30 P.M. (Friday-Mt. Pleasant)

Under 13 Girls               August 1, 1995 – July 31, 1996               5:00 P.M. – 6:30 P.M. (Friday-Mt. Pleasant)

PLEASE ARRIVE FOR CHECK-IN 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED TRYOUT TIME IN ORDER TO BE PLACED IN THE PROPER GROUP AND ASSIGNED A SHIRT NUMBER.

ONLY THOSE CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO COMMIT TO BOTH THE FALL 2008 AND SPRING 2009 TRAVEL SOCCER SEASONS SHOULD TRYOUT FOR A LIVINGSTON SOCCER CLUB TRAVEL SOCCER TEAM.  Prior to making this decision please carefully read the entire “Travel Program Guidelines & Procedures” on our website.  THOSE NOT WILLING OR ABLE TO MAKE THE COMMITMENT ARE ENCOURAGED TO PLAY IN OUR SUCCESSFUL IN-TOWN PROGRAM.  NO NEW JERSEY TRAVEL CARDED PLAYER CAN PLAY IN THE IN-TOWN PROGRAM.

Each competitive Tryout will be consistent with the process outlined in the “Guidelines & Procedures.”  A child may not tryout “up” (i.e. playing with the next older age group).  The tryouts are age specific.  Even if the athlete played “up” during the course of the season, that athlete must tryout with their age group.

SHINGUARDS ARE MANDATORY.  NO JEWELRY OF ANY KIND IS PERMITTED (NO EXCEPTIONS).  Soccer cleats are recommended.  Bring your own water.  We will provide soccer balls.

If the weather appears questionable on the day of the Tryout please call (973) 740-1133 one hour before the scheduled Tryout time for further information.  It is probable that Saturday, May 17 and Friday, May 16 will be rain dates.  If rain dates will be used there will be a message on above soccer number.
