     ALL ABOUT SOCCER FIELD

2012
Important Info for In-Town Soccer Coaches

Hi Gang - thanks for stepping up to coach the youngins’ this fall. There is no program without you.

Practice? - We recommend no more than 3 practices before the season starts (Sept. 8) and then one practice during the week during the season.

Where? - We have permits for Riker Hill, Mt. Pleasant, Hillside and Burnet Hill. (Once school starts, practice may not start before 4:00) You can practice elsewhere - but someone with a permit can ask you to leave. Conversely, you can ask a non-LSC team to leave fields for which we have permits. No practices may be held at Okner.

We also have Heritage starting at 6:00 - for those of you who enjoy a nice sunset.

It’s All About Sharing! - You can’t reserve fields. It’s all on a first-come first-served basis. We demand everyone be generous. You don’t need entire fields - you don’t really need half. Please make every effort to make room for everybody.

Travel Teams? - Our travel teams practice on Wednesdays and Fridays at Mt. Pleasant, Hillside, Northland Basin and Burnet Hill. Fields remain on a first-come first-served basis - but Wednesdays and Fridays will be a bit more crowded.

Coaches Meeting - We will hold our annual coaches meeting on Thursday, September 6 at the Community Center on Hillside Avenue from 7:00-8:00. At this meeting, we go over rules and distribute uniforms and equipment.

Safety Clinic for First Time Coaches - If you have not attended our safety clinic, you must do so this year. We hold it on Wednesday, September 5 at the Community Center on Hillside Avenue from 6:00-9:30. Eat dinner before you arrive! If you have already attended this Safety Clinic, no need to do so again.

Once again - thanks for your help. You are all heroes to all our kids!

Thanks
